Intention, Intuition, and Mirrors
Brighter Beings Mindfulness

Intention, Intuition, and Mirrors

By Candace Partridge. Many years ago, I became aware of some of the old beliefs I had been trusting in since childhood that were no longer working for me but I didn’t know I had the power or ability to replace them with ones that better suited me today. I wanted to do something different and believed I could try but didn’t know where to start. I began setting intentions. It seemed a safe and easy first step and it changed my life. Every few weeks I would work on a new intention. Slowly I began to recognize a faint inner voice I never knew existed. This whisper of intuition, set me on a course to change deep, destructive patterns that entered my life as a child and were now crushing me and my family.

Open your Mind, Change your Life
Brighter Beings Visualize

Open your Mind, Change your Life

By Dr. Tara Swart. In the past decade, I've transformed my life using the power of visualization. My own journey led me to turn my back on my traditional medical career as a psychiatrist, learning to tune into my deep inner wisdom and intuition, and risk everything to carve out a new career as an executive coach. I realized that the key to creating the life I dreamt of lay within my brain – what I call 'the source'. This is a realization that I have come to as a result of my Ph.D. research in neuroscience, but also as a result of my openness to more esoteric and alternative practices. I believe that visualization is at the heart of autonomous creativity, and I passionately believe that by training yourself to visualize in a focused way, anybody can manifest a more fulfilled, successful, and happy life.

To receive is to give
Brighter Beings Receive

To receive is to give

By Christina Martell.  I spell it wrong every time - I say the rhyme in my head, I before E except after C. I'm 39 years old. I should be able to spell receive, but the i and e continuously play tricks on me. Perhaps (like Wednesday) it's always been spelled wrong. The irony is that the word in general has so many misleading concepts. Receive means: to be given, presented with, or paid. It also means: to suffer, to experience, to be subject to, or to take.

Stop and Remember to Breathe
Breathe Brighter Beings

Stop and Remember to Breathe

By Tanya Friend. Breathing. It is an essential part to living. In fact, breath gives us life. But so often it is something that can be taken for granted. This is part of my story and how setting an intention to breathe has changed my approach to life. I am a granddaughter, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a girlfriend, a therapist, a teacher, a mentor, a leader, and an entrepreneur. I am also a woman who has had her share of loss, disappointments, failures, stresses, and challenges.

Discovering your authentic voice
Brighter Beings Communicate

Discovering your authentic voice

By Kristin Moses. The business I love today is absolutely not the one I started out with. For too many years, I focused relentlessly on taking on as many projects as possible, whether they were inspiring or not. Our clients at the time just wanted beautiful designs, and that’s what we were giving them. I “spoke” only through design — which meant I wasn't bringing my full self to my business. And I didn’t even think that mattered. But working and living this way wasn’t sustainable. I knew in my heart I needed and wanted more from my business and my brand. So I made a big, scary shift.

The Story of One Human Doing
Brighter Beings Love

The Story of One Human Doing

By Linda Ford PhD. Once upon a time there was a brain, well cultivated and powerful. This particular brain had a transport system called a human body. But really, the brain thought it was the whole deal. So this human being was really more of a human doing. Much got accomplished in this way and the brain was satisfied. And yet…That’s pretty much how I lived my live for decades. Through a series of personal retreats, I began to see the potential to become more of a full Human Being instead of just a Human Doing. A consistent meditation practice helped bring me more present to that reality.

Curiosity sparks a wellness journey
Brighter Beings Transform

Curiosity sparks a wellness journey

By Jackie Burrow.  Growing up, in the city of San Antonio, TX there were no conversations of health and wellness, but this curiosity became a force for me in my early childhood. Even though I grew up playing outside, swimming, climbing trees, and playing kickball with friends, there was something that was missing when the adults I witnessed didn’t model the continuation of activity and being outdoors. It took an active determination.

Find Your Center. Reclaim Your Life.
Brighter Beings Center

Find Your Center. Reclaim Your Life.

By Terri Broussard Williams. It took a big loss in my life to set me on the path toward intentional living. Grief ripped the blinders off and showed me all the ways I was going through the motions and fulfilling goals others were setting for me. On May 20, 2017, I lost my dad, who had always just got me. He was the person I called each day when driving home from work.  Each time I went to pick up the phone to call him made my pain cut a little deeper. But loss made me take a hard look at how I was living my life, and I was not happy with what I saw.
Mapping the Current
Brighter Beings Flow

Mapping the Current

By Erica Midkiff.  The idea of flow is appealing, but putting it into practice can be tough. So imagine my surprise when I found inspiration in a very unlikely place…a parenting book called No-Drama Discipline. (Stay with me, even if you don’t have kids.) Imagine a drawing of a river. One of the banks is labeled rigidity and the other chaos, representing two extremes that aren’t ideal. But in the middle is a current that moves naturally down the river, approaching each bank but never getting stuck there.

Style your life from the inside out
Brighter Beings Communicate

Style your life from the inside out

By Laurel Kinney. I started my personal styling business after a career in social work, which perfectly combined my love of connecting with people and my desire to live more creatively. The services I provide, and my methods for helping people discover the style that makes them feel most powerful/confident/fully aligned have more psychological and interpersonal components than your typical "fashion" ingredients.  I work with people of all sizes, shapes, and backgrounds - what connects us all is a desire to take what’s inside ourselves and outwardly communicate who we really are.

Discover your truth, manifest your vision
Brighter Beings Visualize

Discover your truth, manifest your vision

by Krista Kilbane, LSCW.  I am a therapist by trade and a healer by nature. I’ve worked with clients that are seeking a luminous path in order to reach their ideal life for over 10 years. In all instances, everyone that I see is seeking healing and growth in some aspect of their lives.

In the early years of my practice I assisted people with managing their anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, etc. They would make progress, temporarily, but the behaviors they had shifted seemed to just shift back over time. This would drive me insane! How can I help people to make a permanent shift?

Healing: everything is temporary

Healing: everything is temporary

by Natasha Akery. I am a high school English teacher, wife, and mother. I live a beautiful and blessed life with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), panic disorder, and generalized depression. The themes of my life revolve around healing, relationships, and spiritual faith. I have always been very proactive in seeking mental health and stability, but it is only recently that I realized healing doesn't mean "to not experience pain."

Discovering sweetness at the Root
Brighter Beings Love

Discovering sweetness at the Root

By Sharon Johnson. I battled with my weight throughout my school years and beyond. Being overweight not only affected my health but my happiness, self-esteem, feelings of self-worth, and connection with myself. When I got to college, I became aware of the possible consequences of my diet and lifestyle. I knew if I continued down the same path, I would not have the health and happiness that I deserved.

Same Wavelength: Mindfulness + Meditation
Brighter Beings Mindfulness

Same Wavelength: Mindfulness + Meditation

By Paige Davis. I’ve explored meditation and mindfulness practices my entire life, but never with consistency. My real entrée to a formal meditation practice came when I was a stressed out entrepreneur on the verge of burnout. I knew nothing in my outer circumstances were going to change and I was desperate for some peace. That is when I attended my first meditation training with Deepak Chopra and the Chopra Center. It was a game changer.

Love as a powerful force

By Maggie Miller. As a serial entrepreneur, I am genuine and passionate about our ability to inspire greatness in people and the world. My life goal is to fuel and build platforms that unleash human potential. Most importantly, I have vowed to make joy central to everything I do and am.

Professor more present with kids
Brighter Beings Mindfulness

Professor more present with kids

By Nicky Martinez. As a full time university professor Nicky received her PhD in Psychology while raising three children (all under the age of 8). After her oldest was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3, she became an avid advocate for connecting and supporting families of children with autism. She definitely understands the incredible demands of motherhood and the science behind focus and goal-setting. What’s most important to Nicky? Being the best mom and wife to her family.

Kindness and Hope

These little reminders to take moments during my day to refocus and breath have reframed my stresses. Visual reminders to pause, look for unity, and use wisdom have given my days brighter endings. It has been a pleasure to enjoy them. The quality of the marks are great. They are longer lasting then advertised but so easy to remove when I'm ready to change my focus. Communications from Lumenkind has been fast and responsive to a minor order issue. Exceptional customer service with kindness!
