About This Place

This structure is called the Geode. Its shape is inspired by a geometric form known as a Platonic solid. These shapes that have fascinated philosophers and mathematicians for thousands of years and appear throughout nature in crystals, molecular structures, and patterns of growth. 

The Geode was our first woodworking project on the property. We originally thought it might be simple since every edge of a Platonic solid is identical. It turns out no piece of wood is ever exactly the same.

Layer by layer, tiny cut by tiny cut, we slowly assembled it together.

A Bit of the Story

We built the Geode for our cat Mango, also known as The Mindful Meow.

Mango loved quiet mornings, stretching beside us during yoga, and simply being present in this space. The Geode quickly became one of his favorite places to sit with us and watch the world wake up.

Mango left us in 2024, but his presence still feels very much a part of this place, quietly watching over the land and everyone who enters.
